Dealing with Lawkeeper issues (like pork and clothes) when witnessing

"Why do you only follow some things in the Bible and not everything?!"  Typically they'll say:  " So do you follow ALL of Levticus or just the convenient ones? Do you cut the hair on the side of your head? Have any tattoos? Do you eat meat that isn't 100% well done? Eat any split hooved animals like pigs? (Bacon, ham...) I presume you observe the Sabbath. TV off, no phone, just worshipping. How about not eating any animals without fins or scales? Better put down those crabs, oysters and clams.” The response to this is: They misunderstand Christianity and the life of a follower of Christ. Christians have "the righteousness of Christ", and live out the Fruit of the Spirit. We posess "spiritual life" [as God originally designed us to (though in sanctification since we are sin stained and not perfect)], so that means we as image bearers of God are living out the Communicable Attributes of God as seen by the Fruit of the Spirit listed in Ga...

Ways to interact with someone online seeking the occult

Q: When someone seeks occult but claims to be a believer, or when finding moments for witnessing online to someone who appears unsaved, how can we approach it in a comment to strike up a convo towards the Gospel or correcting a professing believer dabbling in it?  You could slide in & say:  "I can't recommend one (as a Christian, [Leviticus 19:31, Leviticus 20:6, Isaiah 8:19]), but I do pray that you seek to trust God and not dabble in the darkness.".  If they reply claiming  they are a Christian , you can follow up with...  "Instead of seeking a medium, can I as a Christian pray for you instead? Then you can trust in God's sovereignty on the matter." And if an appropriate opportunity allows, you can also add: "[Kindly] God has told us believers in Scripture that we are not to have anything to do with the darkness where Satan and demons are, & mediums, witchcraft, the occult and such are part of the satanic system we are to avoid. Scripture als...

How to engage people who claim to be Christian, but seek out Mediums

Q: I need to know if I’m in the wrong here… overlooking something I want to do the right thing because I truly care for others and making sure they’re guided down the right path, when I feel lead by God to. Growing up I understood about spiritual warfare and blindness, and what could happen when dabbling in demonic thjngs such as mediums or witchcraft. I had thought was okay at the time because my mom was dabbling in it. I turned from that years ago. I engaged a woman in a local town group forum, about a post asking for recommendations for the best mediums.  I quoted 3 scriptures in the Bible. 2 from Leviticus and another from Isaiah. (figured that was enough, I could have kept going) Leviticus 19:31 , Leviticus 20:6 and Isaiah 8:19, to encourage her away from doing such things. I was thrown off by a response I got by commenting that. A person commented and was berating, rude and gaslighting in her response. All were questions asking me if I do a-z in the eyes of the Lord, (side ...

New believer but husband is athiest & former Muslim, how to reach him for Christ?

I am a new Christian and my husband is unfortunately not a follower in Christ or any religion for that matter. When he grew up he was raised with Islam and got out of that when he was a teenager and met his first atheist friend who was also following the same religion when he was younger but turned away.  I tried to help him understand what we say about Christ (because Islam is known for devaluing Christ and making Him out as only a prophet). He asked me a question today that has me stumped. I thought I would ask stronger Christians since now I'm lost for words and sadly has me thinking things. Which I feel guilty for and now it makes me think that I lost my connection with Christ and my salvation for me thinking about the possibility.  His question was: If Islam and all these religions feel this "higher power" (I was referring to the Holy Spirit when I told him how I can feel Christ- he claims when he prayed to God that he also had the same feeling of comfort) how do we ...

What to know about the Orthodox religion

Its a works based religion like Catholicism. Avoid. The Orthodox Church, worship service centers on the Eucharist, incorporating music, prayer, and Scripture, along with incense, icons, and other sensory elements. The Orthodox Church also holds that the bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ but purposefully avoids explaining how the transformation occurs. With their icons, it's idolatry, and is forced on the parishioners and made a requirement.  Orthodox Church generally respects the pope, it does not recognize him as possessing ultimate authority over the church. Orthodox church believe baptism is required for salvation, which is a "work" on mans part as if having a role in his salvation, thus putting it outside true Christianity. It fails the Essentials test, so it's not Christian. Further, they preach a gospel of Asceticism: "Unless each one of you shall hate all nature of earthly possession, and renounce it and all its works with all his heart ...
