What to know about the Orthodox religion

Its a works based religion like Catholicism. Avoid.

The Orthodox Church, worship service centers on the Eucharist, incorporating music, prayer, and Scripture, along with incense, icons, and other sensory elements. The Orthodox Church also holds that the bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ but purposefully avoids explaining how the transformation occurs.

With their icons, it's idolatry, and is forced on the parishioners and made a requirement.

Orthodox Church generally respects the pope, it does not recognize him as possessing ultimate authority over the church.

Orthodox church believe baptism is required for salvation, which is a "work" on mans part as if having a role in his salvation, thus putting it outside true Christianity. It fails the Essentials test, so it's not Christian.

Further, they preach a gospel of Asceticism: "Unless each one of you shall hate all nature of earthly possession, and renounce it and all its works with all his heart . . . he cannot be saved."(1) However, The true Gospel of Christ says: "That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Rom. 10:9). They have a different Gospel.

Eastern Orthodoxy is Paganism disguised as Christianity. In many ways, they are worse than Rome, having been heavily influenced by Eastern mysticism, they teach their members to spurn logic and reason, and only to pay attention to their "experience." Due to this, they cannot be reasoned with. Once they're in, the facts don't matter. The EO church's extreme schismatism is also a huge problem, as they see the Eastern Orthodox church alone as "the ark of salvation" (protestants would say Christ is the ark of salvation). The EO uses this claim to be "the ark" the same way all cults do: no one outside the church can criticize it, and no one in the church is allowed to criticize it. They paint themselves as the source of scripture and truth, and claim to have interpretive authority over scripture, so that no one can use scripture to point out their faults.

Tragically, like the Judaism of Paul's time, Orthodoxy fails to accept the fact that there are people of true faith outside its own sacred doors.

At least you can reason with a Roman Catholic a little bit. Not the EO. Once they're in, they're in. Pulling them out is as difficult is pulling people out of any other cult.

False religions behave like they do to keep control of the parishioners (and their pockets), and instill fear, so they & their offspring dont leave, or even look elsewhere.

May God reach these people, bring many to salvation and out of that false religion.

This will explain 10 problems with the Orthodox religion, which is similar also to Catholicism - and why both religions should be avoided. Including the essential factors that they have a false gospel that doesn't save, but Christianity has the true Gospel that saves.

Here is a additional conversation to help you remain within biblical Christianity.

God bless
