Friend constantly has rebuttal to my answers about Christianity.

Image
Do you feel you need to have a rebuttal when someone tries to challenge your beliefs?  I have someone very close to me in my life who no longer believes in Jesus or the Bible. They believe we are all God and one consciousness.  They just keep asking (attacking) me all these questions about the Bible and I never know how to respond. Part of me feels bad like I should know how to answer and the other part of me just knows they are not going to change their mind anyway so why waste my time in the conversation at all.  These are hard questions and I can understand where they are coming from, but is just super frustrating they way they think they "caught me" somehow for not having an answer. And the answers given are never enough.  I generally try to avoid this person right now, but they are very close to me and seek me out. It’s always hard questions like if God’s love is unconditional why did he flood the earth, why did he allow Elisha to kill 40 kids in his name, why i...

Hospitalized Spouse; prayer he returns to childhood Faith

Q: My husband is hospitalized for surgery, and I would like him to come back to the Faith he learned of in his youth. Pray he gets saved in Christ.  A: It is great that you want to share Christ, and quickly with your husband. May the Holy Spirit guide you.  Here are some ideas: 1. Share this with him, " Why Christianity ?" Article. You can read or let him.  And  THIS  if hes able to see and hear... (show this video)  and ask if "hes ever understood the Gospel that clearly", and then ask "if he wants Christ as His Savior"?. If so, let him [suggest to him to pray]. You could say "pray to YHWH in Jesus name for the forgiveness of his sins as he trusts Christ to save him". Then ask if you can pray over him . Also encourage him to Tell a nurse he just became Christian! As a easy way to give testimony of his Faith. If you know a nurse who is Christisn, ask her to come over to help celebrate his love for Christ.  * these are short. So if he's not w...

Sharing Christ with a dying buddhist parent

Sharing Christ with my dying Buddhist father  Can you recommend a good way to introduce the Bible (i.e. a good Bible study) to someone who doesn't know God or Jesus?  I want to talk to my dad about faith but I have no idea how to go about it. He's in his 70s, not in good health (and nearly died last week). I don't live in the same state as him and planned on visiting him next week. We pray for him nightly to seek closeness with the Lord, but he has literally never heard the gospel as he was raised Buddhist. I've used a particular Bible studies and love it, but I don't want to overwhelm my dad...since he really doesn't seem to believe in God.  We have come into our faith (myself and young son) in Christ over the last 2 years. Just wondering if anyone has been in this situation and how you approached it. I don't necessarily plan to fully convert him, I just want him to hear the Gospels so he won't leave this earth without knowing what Christ did for all of...

Witnessing to a SDA

How to talk to a Seventh day Adventist? Q: I was talking to a coworker who also said they were a Christian, after hearing me mention a picnic I had with my church last Sunday. We talked for a bit about Christ and church, then she said she was 7th day Adventist (😬👀). I didn't say anything, and it was a nice conversation with a coworker. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to start a fight, also because we were at work and I wanted to be professional. How do we talk to 7th day Adventist and Jehova Witnesses, Christian Scientists, etc. Without being mean, while also telling them they are not Christians? I dont want to be mean, or the "uh, actually" guy, but I also feel a strong sense to correct terrible theology, rooted in heresy long debunked by the historic Church.  For now I say nothing, only because I don't know what to say. I'm scared I won't be a good witness to the Good News we share. I work hard and try my best to love everyone, no matt...
