Door to Door testimony

Door to Door evangelism testimony:

A man came home from work. His life had been falling apart for months. He had chosen to give up. He got home, took his gun out and loaded it. Took a seat in his recliner and put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger... CLICK. He threw out a few expletives and once again put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger... CLICK.

He pointed the gun at the floor and pulled the trigger... BANG. Being startled he threw the gun across the room and began to weep, crying out to God... if You will not let me kill myself, give me a reason to live.

KNOCK, KNOCK...

He wiped his eyes and opened the door. Three people were standing there, unknowing of what had taken place a few moments earlier. They had actually been assigned to see a new convert and talk about joing the SS at the church. They got lost and when time was running out for to be back at the church, they saw a house with a car in the driveway and decided to knock on that door so they would have something to report at the celebration time back at the church.

It was this man's house.

The man gave his life to Christ.

Yeah... some times you get a door slammed in your face. Sometimes you annoy the homeowner. Yet, sometimes, people get saved.

I know heaven was rejoicing that night over this lost sould finding Christ, as were the church outreach believers who witnessed it and the church who later found out about it. (1)

Another D2D testimony:

The week of September 11, 2001. I had arrived in Alexandria, LA on the 10th. I was excited about a Evangelism clinic I would be leading. The tragic events that unfolded on Tuesday of that week, caused the training clinic to have a solemn atmosphere. This is completely understandable, and all the attendees were committed to learning and taking the good news of Jesus Christ to that city.

 

Every break during the clinic the attendees were gathered around the provided TV to get the updates on the attacks against us. Each attendee dealt with this differently. We made it through the clinic with a sense of God doing something great. That the purpose of their being there was way beyond what they could imagine.

During the clinic, we put them into pairs of two. This would give them their partner for visiting and to have someone to practice with. On Thursday we put these two person teams with a church member who would drive them to an assigned area and go D2D to share Jesus with any who would give them the opportunity.

NOTE: We have three God size things that happened that week, within the clinic and afterwards. This is just one of those three stories.

One of our teams was going D2D on their assigned streets. A lot of people were not home, so information on the church was left at the homes. Some good conversation happened at a couple of the homes. As they were walking down the street, there was a woman on the other side sweeping her driveway. As they got closer to her home, she called out and asked them what they were doing. The team diverted from their assigned homes and crossed the street to talk to this woman. She asked them again… What are you doing? One of the team members stated, we are out to talk to people about how they can know for sure they can go to heaven. She told (not asked) them to stay there and she would be right back. She went into her house and came back out with her two daughters. Standing there with this team, she looked at her daughters and told them to listen very carefully… that these people were going to tell them how they all could go to heaven. The team shared the gospel and the mother and her two daughters gave their life to Christ.

 

In the conversation after they got saved, this woman told them that her husband was Muslim, and he was glad of the September 11 events. She said she knew she needed a God that did not rejoice in the deaths of innocent people. And the message of Jesus’ love was what she had been crying out for all week.

 

This woman and her daughters joined & got involved in a local Louisiana Church(2)

Get equipped in sharing the gospel through evangelism and apologetics training, and read the Scriptures daily so you can constantly rightly "give an answer for those who ask" as you reach the lost. So as "an approved workman needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word."
