Where are the State Evangelism Conferences?

As a longtime Baptist I miss the old state evangelism conferences. I lived in Texas when I became a Christian and felt called to preach and the high light of my year was the State Evangelism Conference. It was a great motivation to get out and knock on doors and tell people about Jesus. The preaching was great. Time went by and the preaching seemed to more second to special conferences which were not well attended. There are some state conventions with annual evangelism conference in our present time, but none in my state. Professions of Faith and Baptisms are fewer now than in the 1950's. Fewer churches have revival meetings. Both the old evangelism conferences and the local church revival meeting were great motivators for getting out and doing evangelism. NAMB used to promote and help support the state evangelism conferences but their plan has changed. A: I have never in my 36 years as a believer ever heard of Evangelism Conferences in SBC denomination. Had no idea they eve...

How to engage Catholics when they appear as Christian online

I'll share a conversation I had in a supposed Christian forum online. You have to see forumns, pages, groups and online places in Christian spaces as a mission field and not as Christian spaces. Just like the Church where Christ will seperate those wicked ones who were hidding among us in church, and all those in false churches and cults masqurading as Christian for centuries. We need to use discernment and try to always include a gospel link in our posts so others can see it and go check it out. In this conversation the person appeared Christian until the end note . They outted themselves. But notice how I guided the convo not really focused on her boss but it was wisely written to her so that by the time she gets to the end challenge she might be led by God to examine her religion. This is how we can lovingly lead people with knowledge and reason towards truth and point them to the gospel & resources.  I added the intro to the answer after I had written the reply. I conside...

Witnessing to unsaved loved one & friends *

Q: I need advice. All my friends including my boyfriend are not Christian. I really want to talk to them about Jesus Christ but am having this fear in mind that they might not listen to me. Where should I start?  A: Regardless of your relationship status, this can help you reach someone for Christ.  Scripture tells us a few things on this topic. Here are a couple: *God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love and a sound mind.  *The Holy Spirit will help us with what we say. * God's Word never returns void.  *we are to speak to people about the Gospel but do so as one informed, who rightly speaks the truth, and who does so in patience, gentleness and in love.  Are you a new believer? Have you been baptized as a believer yet?  I would start by writing up your testimony. It is best if the gospel is included. Then you have a couple options.  1. Invite them to your baptism where you share your testimony (in water baptismal, before the bap...
