Reaching Catholics for Christ
Q: My best friend says she’s catholic but tells me things I say or Christian music I listen to is “cringe or annoying”, yet says she loves GOD. I can’t tell which one it is and am not sure what to say to her next time she says that.
i’ve mentioned bible study with her a couple times but she was not interested.
A: Catholics who follow the teachings of RCC are idolators and are not saved. All unsaved people are idolators as they do not embrace nor follow the true God revealed in Scripture.
We are not to be friends with those who are not saved, so def not bffs with them. You need to find friends among the born again brethren in your Church. But can reach out to share the Gospel with the lost around you.
Do soak your pre conversations and post convos (with that person) in prayer with God.
For witnessing to Catholics... with Catholics you simply need to focus on the Gospel. Until they understand and agree with it they won't be transformed by it; born again, and listen to truths it clearly reveals.
Don't focus much on the errors of the catholic religion but focus on sin and Jesus.
However a few areas you will need to address, (and God will deal with the rest), are likely:
*Jesus paid our debt in full
*Grace not works saves
*We can know we are saved
In order to discuss salvation.
You can share this link with her and then ask if she's ever heard the Gspel explained so clearly before. And then ask her if she wants to obey the Gospel and be sure of having salvation.
If she rejects it, keep sharing seeds until God moves her out of your life. Get knowledgeable about the errors of that religion she is in so you can keep planting seeds of truth and know what to wisely share with other RCCs you encounter.
And if needed... you can share some further Gospel clarity with her to help her think about it.
This will also be helpful as you seek to share Christianity.
