A friend visited and rejected the Bible I gave her
Q: I have a friend her and very hubby stayed the night with us cause they live in a rv and it was going to storm. While here we went shopping I bought her a bible & she told me not to spend the money.
But it was on my heart to so I did !
After they left the next day, while cleaning the room they stayed in, I noticed they grabbed everything BUT the Bible. They had left in the bottom of a laundry basket. I reached out to her and she said she forgot it.
I truly don’t see how u can forget something like that, and to put it at the bottom hidden, is just wrong to me. Am I over thinking or do you think she didn’t want it.
Q: She had the opportunity to have what God wanted her to know and she rejected it. She doesn't want to know what's in it, and as with everyone, her conscience already convicts "of their sins and they know theyre accountable to God." Itvis obvious she hid it there on purpose hoping you wouldn't see it for a very long time.
Living in a nation where people have free access to and access to the Bible, when other places and people dont... we'll thats horrible to not read what God wants us to know. But it is possible she has already had knowledge of its contents in her upbringing, or just has no interest in God; as she's blinded in her sin nature.
For the unbeliever the Bibke only holds the Gospel, for the believer it holds more about God (to know Him more), helps for living in this fallen world, guide in righteous living and the promises to come.
She can access the Bible online, but until God draws her, she will have no interest. The goal of the Bible in reaching people is the same as the Gospel message, so reach her with the Gospel, and the day she is born again, celebrate & send the/a Bible to her. It can be part of her testimony.
Until then, try reaching her with the Gospel. Have an actual convo, like here...
Your obedience is what God wanted in that situation. He does the rest, he works on people, and draws them. It will be God that gives the increase 1 Cor 3 6--8, we are just the messenger. People reject Jesus but He still loved and died for those who will be saved. So don’t change who you are called to be - like Jesus. Just love her despite how she treated the Words and One you love, and the loving caring gesture you made. Use the Gospel going forward, for it has the power to save men. Focus on loving people by keeping sharing and watering as you can and leave the rest to God. He placed us in people's lives around us from family, friends, to coworkers, neighbors and folk in our community, county and state, so be the light wherever you are and go.
Continue to get equipped to share the Gospel snd Christianity, and of course continue to mature in the Faith.
God bless
