How to reach family who profess but persecute me for Christian faith

Q: I recently moved back in with my family after being away for over a year. My family are not necessarily believers.

The past few years I've been putting a lot of effort into studying the Word and following Jesus.

Being here for a few weeks now, I noticed how estranged everyone feels. I've been going and on this journey with Christ without them. And Ive managed to find so much and [I'm bursting] wanting to share it with them... but you know how non-believers or anybody who isn't saved doesn't like when ppl use the Bible to help them. The craziest thing actually but whatever. It feels like the more I live in truth (and don't let their passive aggressive moods or whatever personal problems bring me down), the more it'll have a reverse effect and actually cause them to persecute me. I imagine it running through their head as " hmm why is he so chipper? " And rather than pickup what I share or just being Christian, they'll be offended and actually make them feel worse.

I want to get them seeing what I see about Faith and the truth, and get their minds off all the worldy things I'm seeing cause them stress and discontentment in life.

A: You cant get them to see it. Theyre eyes are blinded by sin and Satan, so unless God softens their hearts, convicts and draws them to himself, theyll be enemies of God. [The unsaved ones, but will convict and correct those who are His, if any are. Many false converts are everywhere).

Those in sin will live out their nature. It's all they can do. Even distorted moralism. You will see their fruit, which you already notice. They will feel guilty & mistreated you.

Try to discern when it is wise to speak and when it is not. What is wise to say, and how to say it. See if theyre open to your thoughts before you share them. [*not saying dont live out your Christian life]. Speak truth at useful opps, even if its biblically truth without quoting verses. Then, just keep living godly before them. If they commend anything or thank you, just say, "These are things God's wisdom has revealed and blessed my life with, from Scripture. Glad it helped you too ."

And try to find opps to lead them to the Gospel. For those professing Christ and not living it out, probe their salvation in a convo (at a good timing). Heres Good suggestions and resources too....

Resources to probe them, (as a mini self examination moment).

For you....

God bless
