Jordan Peterson & Husband OT NT issues

Q: I'm feeling sad today. My husband is not the kind who DOESN'T think about God or is hostile. Rather, he has developed a "theology" around Jordan Peterson (if you know of his message) that supports the Bible as metaphorically true, but not necessarily literally true. He wants to talk about it frequently and wants to start a podcast at some point in the future, dialoguing with others who have deconverted or who have faith struggles, etc. I have asked him not to talk with me about it, because it makes me so upset and start to question my own faith, honestly.  

I'm feeling depressed and grumpy. I worry about how this "podcast" will impact my marriage and his faith, even further. I am also sad because, in some ways I thought we were moving closer together on some areas of thinking, but this reaffirms that we're saying two very different things. So, grief has come up all over again.

I'm in a very similar situation as you. My husband has gone on a tangent where he's researching all these ancient religions. He's decided the God of the old testament is not the same as what Jesus represents. He said he believes and follows Jesus but that Christians have all been deceived about Yahweh. I finally told him not to talk to me about it anymore, because I was just in constant turmoil. He told me that Jesus said if we seek then we will find, so I shouldn't discourage him from seeking. He's on his own path and I can't pull him off it. Only the Holy Spirit can change his heart. So I've given it over to God to show himself and I'm trying to stay out of it.

Recently he began having coffee with our pastor about twice a month to discuss all his "research." The pastor has been really open to learn and debate, and my husband really appreciates having an educated mind to talk with (because he's been shut down by myself and most other Christians he's approached with his idolatrous "ideas"). It has been a huge load off of my heart that he has these meet ups with the pastor. I'm just praying for him and staying out of it. Maybe your husband could find a similar setup to have discussions with someone you respect and could help guide him without "just trying to change his mind" (or he won't want to talk to them).

A: OP, Jordan Peterson isnt saved and holds to false Old Earth views. He is basucally an Unbeliever acting as a guru on the Bible when he isnt Christian nor well studied in the Bible to speak on it; without the Holy Spirit in him, he will never understand not be able to explain the Bible. 

All isnt lost, not only are these resources going to be helpful to educate your husband, but will help solidify your Faith too 😊.

There comes a point where a believing wife has to loop others in, esp folk the husband might respect. In unequally yoked marriages many times the husband doesnt respect his wife so he wont listen to her, on any topic, esp Christianity.
